Protect Your Eyes
If you are going outdoors sunglasses with UV protection are always recommended. We also carry UV blocking contact lenses. Polarized sunglasses are also a great option for driving and water sports, it can drastically decrease glare.
Yearly Eye Exams
An ocular health check is recommended every year, especially if you are diabetic or have other ocular health concerns, like cataracts or high myopia. An eye exam can help monitor and diagnose other health issues like diabetes or high blood pressure.
Drs. Kopecko and Mayer Vision Clinic Optometry has transitoned to Horie Optometry.
Under new management, but we still offer the same great doctors and level of care you have come to expect over the last 24 years.
Eye Exams for Children
Did you know that 1 in 4 children has an undiagnosed vision problem.
Many believe that sitting too close to the tv will ruin your eye health. There is no scientific evidence to support this myth. Some studies have found that playing specific types of video games improves your hand eye coordination.
It is with mixed feelings that I write this letter to inform you of my decision to leave my position with Horie Optometry. I am sad that I will no longer have the opportunity to care for you. At the same time I have fond memories of the time we have spent together over the years. It has been my privilege and pleasure to know you.
As you may already know, Horie Optometry assumed management and ownership of Drs. Kopecko and Mayer Vision Clinic- Optometry, including your vision exam medical records, in October 2017. At that time I continued to work in the clinic for Dr. Horie until May of this year at which time I took a six month sabbatical. Unfortunately, family health ussues are preventing me from returning to my position.
I know many of you already know Dr. Horie. For those who do not, please be assured that she will take excellent care of you. I know you are in good hands.
Thank you all for entrusting your eye care to me. I will miss you.
Dr. Christine L. Mayer
